My Kitschy Kitchen Etsy Wish List

I have posted about Etsy before {here}, but if you're not familiar with it - Etsy.com is a nifty site where artists and crafters can sell their handmade items, as well as crafting supplies and vintage treasures. I can easily get lost browsing on Etsy for HOURS. I find it incredibly inspiring and motivational. I also happen to have a shop (http://www.lovemedue.etsy.com/). It's pretty bare right now, but I'm working on new items that I will post in there soon. Etsy is a wonderful source for unique Christmas gifts! There is something for every single person on your gift list, trust me! And most sellers are very happy to customize their items to cater to your needs. So please keep Etsy in mind when you're Christmas shopping this year!

For example: Are you looking for a Mr. T Christmas tree serving dish? Of course you are! Well, look no further than Etsy!
This can be yours, thanks to Angela of BeatUpCreations

Today's Etsy wish list is going to be all kitchen-related items - hence the name My Kitschy Kitchen Etsy Wish List.
I have been working on organizing and decorating my new kitchen, and these items have inspired me a buttload. I can imagine each of these things in my kitchen - although, if I had all of them, my kitchen would be overflowing with superfluous stuff! (I mean, a girl only needs so many art prints and mugs, am I right?).

(I am including a link to each seller's Etsy shop below each photo. All photos are property of the sellers.)

Retro "I Love Lucy" apron by loverdoversclothing
I love everything about this apron. If I had to choose my favorite detail, it would be the red ricrac swirls! Perfection. This seller also makes amazing princess dresses for little girls. 6 year-old me would have killed every member of Zoobilee Zoo for one of her Snow White dresses. (Wow, that escalated quickly. I apologize.)

"Kitchen Drawer" print by Ali Douglass
I love the colors and style of this print!

Vintage Arden Farms Cookbook from ThreeOldKeys
I love the style of the illustrations on and in this cook book!I would love to blow some of them up to use as prints around the kitchen.

"Flower Filled Apple" print by Marie of Inkjet Designs
Creative, bright and fun!

"Utensil Pot" print shown in cool colors (left) and warm colors (right) by Marie of Inkjet Designs.
I'm not sure which colorway one I like more! I think I'm leaning towards the "cool" one.

Vintage "Fun to Cook Book" for kids from RosyAppleVintage
More cute retro illustrations!

Kitchen Utensils block print by 1canoe2
This print is so simple and clean and mod and the perfect layout of utensils!

Vintage sunflower coffee mugs from kitschcafe
These remind me of vintage Scandinavian prints.

Crocheted Cloths (can be used as wash cloths, dish rags, etc.) made by Lonestarmama
These are made by a friend of mine. I love her color choices! She also makes wool dryer balls.

Sunny Daze laminated cotton fabric by Alice Kennedy - sold by Deborah of Laminates
I think this would be super cute for a table cloth on our little kitchen table!

Color Wheel Coaster and Pot Holder sewing pattern from stitchindye
(This seller is also published! She wrote a sewing project book, and it is one of my favorites! It's very colorful and creative.)

Modern Utensils print by TypePosters
Another simple, modern, clean design. I guess I'm kind of obsessed with utensil silhouettes!

Vintage Pyrex dish from the "Friendship" line - sold by Alicia O'Dell ov volverv
I collect vintage Pyrex, and this is my absolute favorite collection. Unfortunately, it has been hard to find in local thrift stores (where I find the rest of my collection). I have one piece from this line - a 13x9" baking dish. I love it! But I still want more.

Vintage Pyrex dish from cherryrivers
Here is another piece from the "Friendship" collection of Pyrex. I love the shade of orange on this dish!

Vintage Tulip Time patio lights from VeniVidiVintage
I think everyone owned a string of these back when they were sold! They remind me of my childhood - sitting outside on beautiful summer evenings at my grandparents' homes (both sets of my grandparents owned these). I would love to own a string of them and hang them indoors!

Vintage Pyrex rounded tumbler mugs from 8pointdesign
I can't believe how much I love this color and style now. When we moved into our home in 1992 (I was in 3rd grade), the house was decked out in very outdated 1970's decor. It was hideous. We all hated the colors, carpet, appliances, and wallpaper in every room. My parents did away with most of it immediately. I never could have imagined at that time that I would someday love some of those very colors and designs! It's amazing how trends and fashions come back around in different ways, isn't it? I still think that a lot of the exact color shades from the 70's are hideous, but they are adjusted slightly when they come back in style and are a lot more desirable.

Top Row: 1) Vintage sunburst clock from nine20nine, 2) Seiko flip clock from JunkHouse, 3) Seth Thomas green table clock from ilikemikes, 4) Art deco clock from thebuffycollection, 5) Vintage USSR alarm clock from oldoaks
Bottom Row: 6) Retro Sunbeam clock from 2cool2toss, 7) Vintage cuckoo clock from COTTAGEGOLD, 8) Vintage round orange clock from TheBIG8s, 9) Vintage atomic age clock from modernrelicsshop, 10) Vintage GE clock from thisthatotherthings

Vintage animal cups from SweetHomeAlexandra
My Great Aunt Betsy and Uncle Kurt had these cups when I was little. I think there are a few more animals in the collection. I'm pretty sure I remember a giraffe. These remind of me wonderful visits to their home on Long Island.

Vintage kitschy cooking pot and lid from Rebecca of KitschVillage
I think this is both hideous and wonderful, all at once. I guess that's basically the definition of "kitsch".

Vintage milk glass mug pair from twolittleowls
Cute print!

Staffordshire Potteries Ltd. mod mugs from Rebecca of KitschVillage
Another cute mod print! (I'm such a sucker for mod / Scandinavian prints!)

Vintage floral creamer from Rebecca of KitschVillage
I don't drink coffee, but this creamer makes me wish I did!

Vintage turtle coasters in holder from Stephanie of RichardandRuthie
I don't own any coasters yet. Now that I know these exist, I don't want to ever own any coasters that are not shaped like turtles! (amazeballs!)

Vintage Kool-Aid Man pitcher and cup set
We had this pitcher when I was little. I assume my Mom scored it using UPC symbols from Kool-Aid products. Remember back when cereal and other companies would give you prizes and discounts if you saved your "proof-of purchase" UPCs? Mom was all over that. I also had a Kool-Aid Man red fannypack!! I should have held onto that. I probably could have sold it on Etsy for a pretty penny!

SnapClean (TM) kitchen towels made by Janae of claireandjanae
Janae is a friend of mine who makes tons of cute baby/kid items and decorative items for the home. She is also a major reason why I got interested in fabric and sewing! These towels that she makes are both cute and functional. (aka: too classy to be technically considered "kitsch".) You can learn more about them by checking out her shop!

"Eat Your Heart Out" single light switch switch plate from sarahbelle42
More utensil silhouettes! But this time they're dressing up a normally boring switch plate. What a fun, easy, and inexpensive way to add personal flair to any room! A great idea for rental spaces where you're not allowed to paint or hang decor.

"Kitchen Kitsch" vinyl wall decal set by wordybirdstudios
I know vinyl decals aren't the newest home decorating trend, but I'm still fond of them when they're done right. Here is an example of a set that I would proudly hang in my home! This shop allows you to choose from a great variety of colors for your own customized decals. I think I would have a hard time choosing!
(PS: I guess my obsession with graphic silhouettes goes beyond utensils.)

Thus ends My Kitschy Kitchen Etsy Wish List.
I hope you enjoyed it!

By the time I read this, the Mr. T dish had already sold! Apparently, it just sold yesterday... That would be the best serving dish, haha. Imagine your guests' delighted surprise as they finish off the last of the Chex Mix, only to be pitied by Mr. T.

I must have those sunflower mugs.
Seeing the vintage Pyrex reminds me of many pieces my mom has.
Nice wish list, Dana!

You are too sweet Dana! Thank you so much for including my Etsy shop in your post. Sadly, I've been so wrapped up in school that I've let things slide in my shop. I plan to remedy that next week when I finish finals. ;)

Oooh, I love it all!! Especially that adorable apron! And I TOTALLY had those Kool-Aid cups when I was little, too! Classic. I am very excited for the terrifying Etsy stuff. Those baby-hand shakers are a very fitting preview. Hahaha!
